Summertime trophies in the heart of winter

Sometimes all year around spearos have chances on very rare encounters. Like, summer trophies in the heart of winter…
Obsessed with big game hunting, we had spent time chasing trophies, the best of the Mediterranean catches. Dentexes and groupers came from the deep, even though the water temperature was below 16 C°. While everyone was pursuing sea bass and breams in the shallows, we didn’t hesitate a moment and grabbed the big guns, setting up for the big game. I managed to land the first amberjack, I felt cured. When a massive dentex filled the cooler with golden and pink glitter, I had found happiness once more. It was a cloudy afternoon with light rainfall, the sea was grey and calm like oil. I was alive again... I was spearfishing!
